Mental Wellbeing
October 2021- January 2022: Normalising the normal #TalkAboutIt
The Mental Wellbeing Project was launched with the goal of breaking the silence around emotional and psychological health, operating under the empowering tagline #TalkAboutIt. Recognizing the stigma and lack of dialogue surrounding mental health in many communities, the initiative sought to normalize conversations and provide young people with safe, supportive spaces to share their feelings.
Through a series of interactive workshops, peer-support circles, and awareness campaigns, the project encouraged participants to reflect on their experiences with stress, anxiety, and emotional struggles, while also equipping them with practical coping tools. Activities were designed not only to foster self-awareness but also to build allyship within communities—empowering young people to listen empathetically, validate emotions, and support one another.
The initiative emphasized that mental wellbeing is not just an individual responsibility but a collective cultural shift. By prioritizing empathy, inclusion, and open dialogue, it aimed to reduce stigma, strengthen resilience, and create a more compassionate community environment where it is both acceptable and encouraged to ask for help and to offer it in return.
In doing so, the Mental Wellbeing Project reinforced the idea that mental health is as essential as physical health, and that sustainable social change requires caring for the mind as much as the body.
